Hi Chowser, we're sorry about the negative experience. I'll also be sending you a private message to get more information about the interaction you've had with the door to door representative so that we can follow up on this. Thanks!

As soon as I find out they are trying to sell me something I just say "No thank you" and close the door. There is no point having any discussion with them.

Was this Smart Haven Security? See my post under that thread title.

Telus' door to door reps (and mall reps) have been total and complete jerks for years and years. Nothing seems to ever get done about it. They are a huge negative blight on the company.

Hey there, that definitely doesn't sound right at all. I'll be sending you a private message shortly to follow up on this. Thank you!

This practice in general is rather disturbing. My former neighbouhood had problems with people going door to door selling home security, the sole purpose was to find houses that didn't have any so they could be targeted.
I moved here, and now Telus has visited twice in the first year. It's troubling to be asked about home security by a supposed stranger knocking on our door at night.
Now, you may offer to "remove my address" from your knock list, but really a few of us in our neighbourhood are weirded-out by the practice in general. It really makes me question dealing with Telus and we're now considering a switch to any provider that specifically doesn't have this practice.
