Re: Port 80 / 443 port blocking ... again
Certificates are assigned to domains and the ports used are irrelevant. It's been quite some time since I setup my NAS. The recommendation was to avoid ports 80/443 as they are often targetted and it's simple enough to use alternate ports. I believe there may be issues for residential users but there shouldn't be for business accounts. Note that there is definitely issues testing from inside your network. Is it possible you have a new neighbour who may have electrical or network equipment that's interfering with your wifi signal? I have a program on my iPhone (AirPort Utility) that has a Wi-Fi scanner to show SSIDs, their channel and signal strength. Useful if you wish to assign static channels on your router.30Views1like2CommentsRe: IR extender
I suspect you could get an IR repeater (not extender) to do the job. Possible something like this: IR Repeater Transmitter Kit Up to 15FT Signal Range - Infrared Remote Control Extender Universal IR Blaster Emitter with Receiver for Cable Box/STB/Amplifier (USB Powered, 10FT) : Amazon.ca: Electronics19Views0likes0CommentsRe: Android box turning my TV off.
My remote was controlling the Optik box and TV power. I just tried these instructions from Telus and now the remote only controls the Optik Box: Unpairing your TELUS remote If you would no longer like your TELUS Remote to control your TV’s volume and power, you can unpair your remote. Press and hold the Input and Back buttons for 3 seconds until the LED on your TELUS remote lights up solid green Press OK and wait for the LED to flash green twice (the remote has now been unpaired from your TV) The TELUS Remote will now control only the TELUS TV Digital Box, and not your TV’s volume and power. Hopefully that will do what you want.24Views1like0CommentsRe: Android box turning my TV off.
I think the issue is not CEC but the Telus remote itself. There is an option during setup to bypass the remote controlling the TV. See the section Pairing and upairing your remote to control your TV on this page: Set up your TELUS TV Digital Box Remote | TELUS Support Unfortunately you will lose the ability to control the TV volume with the Telus remote if you do this.24Views0likes0CommentsRe: Android box turning my TV off.
Have you tried unplugging the TV and box after you changed the HDMI CEC settings? My receiver specically states that any changes to HDMI CEC requires a power toggle to ensure things work as expected. From the manual: "If HDMI Control does not work properly, the problem may be solved by turning the playback device off and on again, or by unplugging the power plug and plugging it in again. Also, HDMI Control may not work properly if the number of connected devices exceeds the limit. In this case, disable HDMI Control on devices not in use. If the unit is not synchronized to the TV’s power operations, check the priority of the audio output setting on the TV." HDMI CEC can be a bit of a pain. Hopefully you get it sorted out.36Views2likes0Comments
