this answer is for the old remotes and legacy system. This issue is for the new evolution android boxes. There is no pvr button on the remote and not ability to change the time. Please re-read my precious explanation. Right now I am unable to set series recording for this show on 804 for 9pm….it just simply records it at 6pm. The only way to record it at 9 is to record each day as a single recording. On the old legacy boxes, I could go to the guide at 9pm, record series and each day, it would record at 9pm.1.3KViews0likes1CommentRe: New android box recordings
other channels are fine as the time shift is on different channels associated with their different times. Right now, for channels like 802 or 804 that show a program at two or three different times, we can not set up a series schedule for example, Rachel Maddow that is on at 6 and at 9. I go to the guide at 9pm, hot record and set up the series. It then shows up in schedule recordings as mon-fri, SIX pm. The only way to record it mon-fri at 9pm is to go into the guide each day and record it as a single program. It then records at the requested time of 9pm. Ok so we believe we have figured this out (at least it’s working this morning!). We went into device settings then device preferences on the android box and then into HDMI. We turned on both of the CEC settings (they were off). So far it seems ok. We will see how the day goes! Will update here if anything changes. We have other soundbars in the house that are connected via optical cable that don’t have this same issue but the ARC is connected via CEC and therefore needed this intervention. hope this helps someone else! 😊1.7KViews1like1CommentNew android box recordings
Just tried setting up my first recordings after getting the new boxes yesterday. I went to the guide and set up a recording for the Rachel Maddox show for weekdays at 9pm (channel 804). I just looked in my series set up and it shows it recording the eastern feed instead, at 6pm. I deleted the series and set up again via the guide, chose 9 pm and the series shows it set for 6pm again! This is ok some days but other days I will have too many things recording at once so I chose the west feeds instead for this recording. Why is it not accepting the time I asked for? We had evolution boxes hooked up yesterday. While everything seemed to go well, we have an issue with our main tv that uses the Sonos Arc soundbar (a Sonos Beam soundbar in another room is working just fine). The new telus box is interfering with the arc soundbar and will only allow us to watch thru the tv speakers now. The installer told us to unplug everything last night and when we did and re-hooked back up, everything worked for a bit but this morning, it’s back to tv speakers. Tried to reboot everything again this am but now NO sound comes thru the soundbar! Super frustrating….been doing some reading and found folks talking about needing a CEC-less adapter because of the telus box interference? I need to buy another item to make this sound work the way it used to? just got off a long and frustrating call with telus tech support. I sent my husband a google doc today and when he got the email, first it said “my email address was outside of his organization” and then when he went to open the doc, it said he didn’t have access to google docs. The tech support person said nobody with telus email (we still use the old .net address) can receive google products anymore (docs, numbers, pages, etc). Is this really fact?? She refused to escalate this to tier 2 or tier 3 for any additional help. She just kept repeating herself over and over that it’s not supported and not possible for telus customers that use their email, to receive anything “google”. Well here we are almost 2 months since fibre was installed and we are wishing we never had it done. The main PVR has no issue watching live tv, recordings, etc but all of our WLS boxes are now so frustrating to watch. We have had two installers out, and many phone calls to support with them trying to “fix things remotely that the installers can’t do”…..we still get “press ok on your remote to browse recordings” showing up on shows about every 30 seconds, we cannot pause live tv, we lose total signal to the box on numerous occasions and we get messages saying we can’t watch tv because too many TV’s are watching/recording (where there is only ONE tv being watched!). Nobody can tell us what is going on, i keep filling out surveys via text when they want to know how things went and nothing! We decided not to go with the cloud based as the installer said it’s not as good, won’t hold the recordings beyond 90 days, etc. I guess we will see. But yes, before our fibre was installed a week ago, we could pause live tv for up to 60 mins and when resuming, we could rewind, fast forward, catch up, whatever. Now we can pause for maybe 5 mins max and it starts playing at the “new time” which means we lost that 5 mins of program and cannot rewind. We get messages either saying not available now, try again, or unavailable because too many TV’s are watching or recording (which is untrue as we only have ONE TV going and zero recordings). Something is seriously screwed up and nobody seems to be able to tell us why or fix it. Super frustrating.4.1KViews0likes0Comments
