My name is Joshua O'Brien. I live in Maple Ridge, and am 29 years old. I've been a client of Telus since 2019, and switched to it from the competition with no regrets. My internet experience is extensive, having been online since September 2007. In my time, I've helped develop accessible solutions for software companies. Managed office executive positions in community forums. And have been working towards establishing independent, off-grid interconnected solutions so that we can remain connected through a variety of apps and services. As social media sites come and go, our service providers do not. They are the cornerstone of success we pay tribute to each and every month both in Canada and abroad. I have found many interests through social media, but they have not brought me to discover a new social side of me the way in-person communities have. I joined Telus Neighborhood to give tips, advice and reach out to fellow Telus home and business owners where I can help make a difference to further connectivity and progress.

Re: Lost zones T3200M with Wifi Plus
It sounds like you have a large, busy house. All the better to wifi it up in, right? I'd check the t3200M and see if it registers all of the extra devices on the network. If not, then you may need to run ethernet cables from the non-existent wifi extender to the T3200M modem to see if it can reregister. If so, then it should broadcast the signal wirelessly from the other extenders in the house still working. IF not, then it's possible the power outage may have potentially ruined one of your units, and you'll need to order a new one. Either way, it's good to run an Ethernet cord to all of your extenders every once in awhile, and then lock in their Mac addresses to the t3200M so it won't randomly disconnect. Additionally, try rebooting the T3200M and see if a connection reset fixes the problem. IF all else fails, reorder a fibre upgrade and get a tech installer to come out and replace the equipment.2.1KViews2likes0CommentsRe: Can you bundle everything?
Hmm, let me see...I think, that you need to go on the consumer shopping spree package. lol So I'll just, point you in the right direction. As far as I know, you can bundle everything at the time of purchase. So if you feel like reordering everything, that's when and where you can switch to better savings if you want all of that.2.9KViews0likes0CommentsRe: Anyone Else Getting Frequent Scam Calls From Outside Callers?
This is clearly a bandaid, not an effort or attempt to care about what Telus itself lets through to the number. In fact, it advertises that I am the target of a scam call centre by enabling this feature to anyone else trying to call me. But I will enable it and see if it cuts down on the calls, just in case. Thank you for letting me know there are options for Android and iPhone. I feel vulnerable giving up my trust to conditional call block features, that have the potential to, and do make mistakes. Particularly when the majority of the calls I'd otherwise receive by any other service provider that isn't Telus, Rogers or Freedom, do not forward scammers to my number. I wish to opt out of grand central cyberstation calls, so any little fix helps. I kudo'd this, even though I do not agree with the solution.7.6KViews0likes0CommentsRe: Help with reactivation account
Welcome back. Sign up as a new customer for a new number if you can't login to My Telus to retrieve your old profile. Just get your Sim card shipped to your address. You can order it online if you need to. I wouldn't waste time worrying about service Telus already disconnected for non payment. If in doubt, get a Rogers line and wait it out for awhile if Telus fails to give you a line.5.4KViews0likes0CommentsRe: After upgrade to 1Gb Fiber internt using Arcadyan NH20A landline down
Try disconnecting the land line. I'd go into your LAN settings and disable reserved IP addresses for everything accept your Telus Boosters if you have them. Replug the land line back into the router and see if it gets a connection. Arcadyan modems are notorious for locked cache, which is the cause for your disconnection issues. Since they never get firmware updates. If I were you, I'd reorder Fibre internet and ask the install guy to give you a Technicolor FXA5000 instead. As this will fix your issue.6.9KViews0likes0CommentsRe: Come on Telus! Fix/change/update your e-sim support policies.
I don't mean to be a Karen...but Esim is dangerous for so many reasons. The most obvious, is that if your phone gets stolen, lost, misplaced. The procedure needed to get a new Sim is flawed because it's hidden with a temporary QR code. Physical sims let you keep the packaging in case something goes wrong. You can track your phone's EMEI number using the last reported location of your Sim number. Neither Google or Apple will show you your sim number once it is set up in your device. And Esim does not let you port your number to another carrier. So while you could technically put a stopper on your existing Esim by deactivating it, your phone still has it linked and locked into it even if it's lost or stolen. Which means that you could be locked out of your number if any device tries to SMS it to port it out before you're able to get to it, all because you have an Esim. And your phone won't automatically inform you or restart if the sim is removed or added. So while I agree with you that Telus should update their policy of Esim, playing it safe, I couldn't stress this enough, having been a victim of port jacking myself with another carrier, is not too much to ask. The dangers and risks associated with Esim highly outweigh the benefits for keeping it around. I really think the technology needs work before it should be adopted as widely as it has been. Utilizing a non secure method of service on a secured device, is a recipe for disaster no matter how you look at it.19KViews0likes0CommentsRe: How to help the old lady next door with her Telus email/Gmail/Chromebook
Have you tried setting her up with a phone? I know this may sound redundant, but my mother is also elderly. And she finds the phone a lot easier to use and with a brighter screen, she's able to see it a lot better. A phone might help your neighbour with her Zoom issue a well, because once she learns the layout of the app, it should hopefully not change too often if at all. And I know the GMail app on any phone, Android or iPhone is very well maintained and has support for GSuite products.3.9KViews0likes0CommentsRe: Arcadyn router issues on power outage
Reorder a fibre install, and tell the guy you want a Technicolor FXA5000 modem to replace the Arcadyan one. What is likely happening, is that your Arcadyan modem is having issues servicing DNS requests because its cache is using an older IP address not yet released in cache to do so. Due to ARP not being enabled on Telus's back end for your address, which is meant to solve this issue. This is what is bringing up the intermittent connectivity issues. Arcadyan modems never get firmware updates either, making this problem apparent even more so.3.2KViews1like0Comments
