Google Telus TV box

We have the next box. I can't for the life of me figure out why the Closed Captions are not able to be adjusted.

By default the text is default which is too large for us and the backround is black, we prefer clear. I've done the proper adjustments in Accessibility/Closed captions and rebooted several times but the new settings don't take.

Any help or folks who have solved this problem would be appreciated

Hi All, we're expecting a firmware release sometime in July to allow text scaling. Please stay tuned.

Closed Caption customization is definitely on our team's roadmap. This along with many other updates are on the way!

No new update on fixing the closed caption customization issue? It’s June now and without any update.

It’s mid-October now and still no firmware update solving the text scaling issue. That’s totally unacceptable.

Hi, it is August and I see that there are now options for closed caption customization in the accessibility menu. It however doesn't actually update the onscreen display. Updated firmware today.

I’m failing to understand how it takes 3 months to implement a feature every single TV provider has by default.

Does Telus have a dev team?

The lack of closed captioning options is pretty sad..it sounds like this has been an issue for a long time. There are closed captioninv options that don't do anything in the menu. Clearly the devs do not have any family or friends that us this option. I am.sure if they did it would be fixed right away because they way it's set up now is completely unacceptable. Just because people can't hear, doesn't mean. We can't read and want words covering half the screen in a terrible position.

This is ridiculous.  I was on the phone with a technician and he wasn't able to do anything for me regarding the CC adjustment and didn't even know there was a issue. Finally advised me that the new equipment did not have the ability to adjust the CC settings. The only option is to live with it or go back to the old type. The old ones were freezing up and we were having to reboot them constantly. Have been with telus for a number of years and thinking maybe looking at other options.

Got to love these threads marked as solved...........NOT

Taking months and still no clues figuring out how to solve this minor issue. It’s just laughable.
