Yep, I have the newest Android box, that is the only box available for new subscribers. It does not change the fact there NEEDS to be a way to "only watch tv" there is a large demographic of users who only want regular basic TV, elderly, cognative challenged users who are frustrated with the system. Either provide us an option to use an older "TV focused" set top box. I can confirm while on the home screen pressing the Options button does nothing. If removing the home screen /apps is a real thing please share! My elderly father just wants to watch TV! When we "favourite" an on-demand series or program -click on the heart icon. Where do we find our "favourites"? What is the purpose of tagging an ON DEMAND series/show as a favourite? For example, I "favourited" House of the Dragon which is an HBO on Demand program... Is there a quick access shortcut or menu location to find all my favourite on-demand programs? Unfortunately this seems to be a common thing. Same happened to me a few days back. Because the PVR is in the cloud, when it’s gone it is gone. Telus offers no explanation or “fix”. I called support and politely complained and logged the incident for future leverage. It is really important for everyone to call and log a ticket when this stuff happens, TELUS will monitor the support queues. For the community, Politely call tech support and was told "Somehow the PVR service was removed from your account" Rather troubling since AFAIK that service is built in can can't be "removed" by me... I'd like to give TELUS the benefit of the doubt, but since I CAN currently record new things, and view the empty PVR menu... seems rather suspicious that the PVR service was removed.... Otherwise I Would NOT be able to record anything at this time (I can) So I'll play along - Since customer care is now closed and tech can't add/remove services I need to wait until morning to fix this -hopefully. Has anyone else experienced their entire PVR library and scheduled (to be recorded) shows totally empty for no reason? Makes me VERY suspicious of the 100% cloud-enabled PVR recordings if we can't trust the service and it can get randomly reset on us!!! Be careful. As others have said; Be aware of the "package model" if there are specific channels @ Shaw that you want in TELUS make sure you add all the right bundles. IF just basic TV then no problem, but adding all the premium channels may result in adding multiple bundles to bring up the price. IMHO - the "box" and user interface is definitely NOT senior friendly... -yet.. The Telus system is totally different, the remote, the buttons, the guide, the channel numbers, the on screen guides, everything is new and different! Excellent summary! I agree with everything you highlight and more! I would also add the lack of clear documentation for the remote functions. For example, a long press of the rec button brings up your saved show / PVR library! A long press of the back button restores the live TV! There are others I don't remember...7.3KViews1like1Comment
