Has anyone else experienced being ripped off by TELUS?
My 24 month contract was up for renewal in November. I called mid October to renew so I wasn’t charged extra… my bill came and it went from $130-$275!! They said it went off contract.
Two years prior it ended in December and I called in early November and I got screwed by them again.
They are now telling me I need to call by September 2026 to renew so I don’t get the extra charges. Ridiculous how to a two year contract goes from December, two years later to November, and two years later to October.
Business dealings like this is why people are disgusted by TELUS. Also, most reps are no longer helpful, just rude & blunt. They used to try to be helpful.

Not quit the same thing. Been a Telus customer for many years, and could watch and record from Channel AMC 303 for years. Last night (Nov 2nd, 2024) I could watch and record from this channel. As of today (Nov 3rd, 2024) I am unable to record from this channel. Now they want an extra $5.00 to watch this channel which as a note mostly show reruns of 20+ year old films. As note dose this mean they broke my 2 year contract?
yesterday
Yes it does.

Hey @JodyZ2 - we always bill a month in advance so from an outside perspective into your situation I would say that your call happened on, or shortly after your billing cycle which triggered a full month of service costs.
Did the renewing agent help credit those fees?

As we mentioned, billing is done a month in advance. So if you renew in December of 2022 for example, then November 2024 would be when you should call so your discounts don't end and you are billed the regular price.

This is exactly how I feel. They make it so difficult for customers to get help so that we end up being overcharged and have no choice but to pay.
