Prime Video on TELUS - February 2024
February is almost here, and 2024 is well underway! As we can all agree, there's nothing better than kicking back and checking out that new movie your coworkers keep talking about, checking out the latest episodes of your favourite series, or seeing what scary new horror movies are available! Prime Video is the place to be for all of the above, and next month brings a slew of great new content to dig into.

Mr. and Mrs. Smith (Season 1)
I'm pretty excited for this new take on Mr. and Mrs. Smith. Based on the 2005 film starring Brad Pitt and Angelina Jolie, this new series puts a slightly different spin on the tale, and judging from the trailer it looks like it's shaping up nicely. Donald Glover (Community, Atlanta) and Maya Erskine (Wine Country) lead a star-studded cast about two espionage spies who land new jobs for an agency. Wealth, power, excitement...it's all theirs. If they agree to take on their new identities as a happily married couple.
Obviously, this puts them into a number of precarious situations, with new mission after new mission thrown at them. Their complex story becomes even more dangerous as they start to actually fall in love. A great story to be sure, but shows like this need the charismatic leads to make us believe they feel for each other. I don't know about you, but I'm sold. With a ton of humor and action, this is definitely going to be entertaining. Look for the entire 8 episode season when it drops February 2 on Prime Video!

Reacher (Season 2)
Finally, Jack Reacher is back! After a terrific first season, it was a no-brainer for Prime Video to bring back Alan Ritchson as the titular character in this terrific series based on the Lee Child novels. Reacher is a former U.S Army military police officer who is arrested for the murder that he didn't commit in a small Georgia town. After he's freed, he has to investigate his own set-up, which also leads him into a wide conspiracy with corrupt police, politicians, and businessmen. Now, Reacher is pulled into the web once again when he's told that a member of his former military group is murdered. As always, Reacher realizes quickly that the case is bigger than he ever could've imagined.
As a fan of other similar series (i.e. the fantastic 'Bosch') where the conspiracies run deep, and our protagonist is pushed to their breaking point to survive, this is already added to my list of favorite shows. I'm near the end of the season and things have definitely ramped up in intensity over the first season. Ritchson is fantastic in the title role, giving not only the menacing size and brute force to Reacher, but the gravitas and depth to make it really compelling to witness. Season 2 is on Prime Video right now, be sure to check it out!
