Reacher (Season 3) - Prime Video
I'm so excited that Reacher is back! The first two seasons of the terrific (and often hilarious) action thriller series Reacher have been must-watch for me. The fantastic Alan Ritchson returns as the sardonic, hulking Jack Reacher for another season full of intrigue and wall-shattering action. Reacher is a former military police officer, now a self-proclaimed 'hobo' who has formidable strength, intellect, and survival abilities. He prefers to live as a drifter instead of being tied to one location, and during his travels, he crosses paths with many dangerous criminals. Each season is a new storyline surrounding a mystery or event that Reacher needs to figure a way out of.
It looks like Reacher has finally met his match, at least in terms of size! Based on the Lee Child series of books, this season will be based off of the hit novel 'Persuader', and it sees Reacher going undercover to rescue an informant being held by a haunting foe from his past. I love the writing in this series, and Ritchson is fantastic in the lead role, mixing his dry no-nonsense humor with unstoppable fighting prowess. I'm pretty pick when it comes to action series like this, but I'll freely admit that I was fully hooked minutes into the very first episode...it's that good.
The first two seasons are streaming now on Prime Video, so you have time to catch up before the exciting new third season drops on February 20. Don't miss it!
What I'm Watching Now
The White Lotus - Crave
I'll admit that while I was aware of The White Lotus when it originally aired a few years back, I didn't think much of it. Then my wife watched it and up until a few weeks ago, told me repeatedly that I needed to check it out. I finally caved and a few weeks ago we dug into episode one. Boy, was she right. I was hooked instantly and have now since caught up on both seasons, just in time for season 3 when it drops next month! Set in Hawaii, the first season tells of a group of people coming to the fabled White Lotus resort for some relaxation. What follows however is anything but.
It sounds like an unlikely comparison, but I got some Breaking Bad vibes from this. In a sense of not being able to stop watching, just to see what happens to the characters and how everything unfolds. With a star studded cast including Sydney Sweeney, Jennifer Coolidge, Steve Zahn, and Alexandra Daddario...it's a blast watching the characters' storylines intertwine. This is one of the funniest black comedies I've seen, and my only gripe is that the first season is only 6 episodes. I need more! There's suspense, dark humor, and cliffhangers to boot. Do yourself a favor and check out both seasons of The White Lotus, streaming now on Crave!
