Netflix on TELUS - December 2021
The year is almost over. As we approach the Holiday season, there's one thing we can always depend on year in and year out. NETFLIX pulls no punches when it comes to releasing some big titles in December, including some incredible Christmas content to make the season merry. So let's take a look at what's headed our way as well as what I'm hooked on now!
Coming To NETFLIX in December
- December 1 - Lost in Space (Season 3)
- Third and final season of the popular sci-fi remake.
- December 10 - Money Heist (Season 5 - Part 2)
- The final five episodes of the Spanish hit thriller series.
- December 17 - The Witcher (Season 2)
- The highly anticipated second season of the fantasy drama starring Henry Cavill.
Most Anticipated
The Witcher (Season 2)
After a long wait, the second season of the hit series The Witcher is finally here, just in time to binge over the holidays! Henry Cavill returns as the stoic Geralt of Rivia in what is shaping up to be an even more spectacular, action packed season. The battle for Sodden Hill has ended with endless casualties. Geralt has escaped his imprisonment and has reconnected with Ciri as they prepare for what's next.
Fans of the series, be it the original novels or the smash hit video game trilogy, are in for a treat as it appears both the budget and scope of The Witcher are ramping up in the second season. Personally I loved the first season and felt that it definitely lived up to the hype, with Cavill's commanding performance leading a fantastic cast through a powerful story. If you're a fan of the games or other great medieval themed shows such as the great Game of Thrones, then be sure to check The Witcher out!
What I'm Watching Now
Cowboy Bebop (Season 1)
I'm beyond hooked on this show! The live-action adaptation of the cult classic anime series, Cowboy Bebop tells the story of a ragtag group of bounty hunters chasing criminals across the solar system in the year 2071. Fans of the original series were extremely hesitant about this series being able to capture the spirit of the original, myself included. Fortunately it was given to the right hands, as this show delivers. It's over-the-top, funny, full of action and incredible special effects, and with a story that will pull you in immediately. Led by the great John Cho (Harold and Kumar), the cast looks stellar as well.
Tell me that doesn't look incredible. There are a ton of sci-fi shows and movies these days, but when you see something this stylish you can't help but be intrigued. I always love when shows are rooted in sci-fi, but have some sort of steampunk / modern age flair to help make it more believable. When you've got a show like this that has sci-fi meets mod/noir-jazz meets Tarantino style...it makes for an incredible watch. I highly recommend you check this out today...you won't be disappointed!
