Re: How to contact Telus re: billing issue for Business Mobility
NFtoBC's response did not solve my problem as my business rep ignores all my calls and texts. It did prompt me to realize I may be in the wrong place. So after searching more specifically (not on the Telus website but in Google), I found https://www.telus.com/en/bc/business/support. I was able to get assistance right away.7.3KViews0likes0CommentsRe: How to contact Telus re: billing issue for Business Mobility
Thanks for your reply. I’ve tried several times to connect with the Business Rep who switched us over but there is no reply. Who’s your business rep – maybe they will respond? This is the second time that their “system” has automatically charged us for services we have not used. I’m tired of this game – it’s a waste of our time and a cash grab (with excuses) on Telus’ part.7.3KViews0likes1CommentHow to contact Telus re: billing issue for Business Mobility
Is there a way to reach support at Telus without devoting the better part of a work day to the process? Their automated chat is useless. Although it suggested I could open an incident through myTelus, that feature is simply not available. As a support professional, I am now thinking that I made the worst possible choice moving our business mobility to Telus. They overcharge (ie. charged me for a service I have never used) but I'm now going to have to spend more time than is reasonable to reach someone to have that charge removed. I understand they don't actually want to interact with their customers and heaven forbid that they design their service delivery system so it includes a way to get support for anything other than what some not-so-genius at Telus has decided will be my problem. It speaks volumes about how they view their business customers. A decent incident management system is not too much to ask when we rely on your services (and unfortunately, that service is substandard compared to our last provider). Why am I forced to interact with a brain-dead chat bot OR sit on the phone until someone who usually can't understand the issue I'm reporting answers? I can not only not recommend Telus to anyone and if I can find a way, I will spread the news about the total lack of support.Solved7.4KViews0likes3CommentsUnwelcome migration to Gmail - What a mess in Outlook for Windows
OK, so yesterday I migrated my mailbox to Google, pretty much under duress (I mean what choice do we have? I've avoided Google all these years to be forced into it by Telus). I lost a full day to get all my devices set up properly. I use Outlook. This is dictated by my work environment. I acknowledge that Outlook is not a great platform. But I've been using it for years with very few real issues compared to what I had to work through yesterday. (No I didn't waste any time contacting Telus support. Forum posts make it very clear they have no idea how to help). Today I notice that my emails on my Windows Outlook instances are being sorted by the day of the week (!!) rather than the day of the month. WTF?? I use my email extensively to manage my business dealings. Now I'm seeing all the emails I've received on a Thursday all together, as if they were received yesterday. Not in order of date mind you. Essentially the list for Thursday jumps from Oct 8 to Oct 1 to Sept 24 to Sept 17 and so on right back to 2018. However, the dates are actually mixed up so some emails actually received yesterday are displayed AFTER 2018 emails. Sure I have a lot of emails and I use them regularly..... I note that in the Gmail interface, the email are sorted by the date, not the day of the week. Gmail made it excruciatingly difficult to get my mailbox set up on my Windows machines. Strangely, my Mac Outlook was easy to setup and the emails are sorted by date as expected. Also on my iPad, it was simple and took moments. Do I expect a solution from Telus? Not on your life. They are not in the business of supporting customers. This comment is based on my experience over the last 3 months - nothing to do with this email migration. So this is simply the icing on an already rotten cake. If you have not migrated yet, I recommend that you back up the .pst file and then clean up all emails so that Gmail and Telus can't touch the history you might want to keep. You can locate the .pst file by looking at the Data Files area of Accounts in Outlook. Then close Outlook and copy this file to another location (don't move it or Outlook won't be able to read it). Then go back into Outlook and clean up your mailbox by removing all old emails. This will speed the migration and will ensure that neither Telus or Gmail can mess you up. After the migration is complete, you can use Outlook to open the copy of .pst file. You'll be able to access those emails as a separate folderNone of the emails will be moved to Gmail. Also don't touch the G Suite Synchronization tool. I recommend IMAP.Solved5KViews1like3CommentsRe: Email transfer from Telus to google mail
Thanks for the suggestion. I used Thunderbird for a few years but since I have to support others who use Outlook, it's easier for me to know the ins and outs of it. I do agree that the "improvements" Microsoft keeps making have completely ruined the application. But just to be clear, now that I've deleted every last piece of the G Suite Synchronization nightmare, and set my mailbox up using IMAP, Outlook is working just fine.10KViews0likes1CommentRe: Email transfer from Telus to google mail
I wasn't specific - if you want to continue using Outlook, go to the instructions here: https://www.telus.com/en/bc/support/article/telus-email-as-alternative-application I would not recommend POP. IMAP is not the ideal solution but at least it works without the constant unnecessary syncing10KViews0likes0CommentsRe: Email transfer from Telus to google mail
Just did the migration this morning. I use Outlook 365 so used the G Suite Sync app (GSSMO). What a mistake!! It took 2 + hours to do some sort of synchronization - then when I opened Outlook IT DID IT AGAIN!!!!! Fully synced, I close Outlook and it spends almost 10 minutes syncing all over again. There's no new emails, no new contacts, no new calendar items. What is it syncing? Who in their right mind would use such a piece of crap? Gmail online interface is simply awful and besides, I want a desktop email solution - not something I have to use in a f@#$ing browser. Worse, I use Outlook to manage several emails (thankfully unrelated to Telus.net) and those accounts WERE DELETED!!! WTF? This is the most inconvenient migration I've every done. Very unhappy with Gmail and Telus. I'm going back to IMAP and looking for another email provider - despite the HUGE inconvenience of having to change an email address I have used for almost 20 years.10KViews0likes4Comments
