Ported 10 hours ago - not able to send or receive SMS - no error message

Tried Sim card in several devices - same result.

Telus 24/7 support phone is just a robot that tells me they are closed... seriously unhappy with lack of support.

Porting was done correctly on my end.

I contacted the porting team later that night - apparently "tech support" and "porting support" are different options in the phone menu...  The issue was that I had no "profile" for RCS [which I had used before on that number] - so messaged to/from my number were going into a black hole.

 

Porting tech support had me turn off device - they "created a profile" and I turned device on again. Presto - texting now works.

Hey @juanr how did you port? Did you reply to the port text message from your previous provider?

Gah I just went through the same thing.  They called me offed me a "better" plan. I accepted.  Found out it was koodoo. I had koodoo before they work but they want to charge you if you want to talk to a person. I didn't want that.  I agreed to telus not koodoo. I tried to port my number took 3 days. I was like wtf I missed so much stuff. I called to cancel because it wasn't going through.  I spent 2 days on the phone trying to deal with this. I went back to bell had my phone working in 10 min. But they finally ported my number and screwed up my phone.  So I had to pat to port it back.  It was do frustrating.  To save like 10 a month cost me thousands in down time and wasted energy and unnecessary fees. I'm livid at telus.  I never want to hear from them again. I've tried to let their service work but it's awful. I really wish I could sue them for lieing and harassment. I've told them multiple times to delete my phone number and never to call me again
