Trying to set up Voicemail to Text to go to a specific email address - the support page says do this in your account but I can’t find out where.

I don't have this addon but it shows as $8 a month for me. You need to go to manage your add-ons and look under Voicemail.

 

I was able to find it both via the web or the My Telus app.


Just a long time customer hoping to help.

It’s not there, in fact the ability to change it is nowhere online. Had to spend 2 hours with tech support so they could change it at their end, and still can’t do it myself so I can get the audio file of messages sent.

Are you not receiving the .WAV attachment?

Unfortunately,  the support docs are wrong.  I read an outdated article which suggested that Telus had a web interface to manage voicemail.  It seems to have been closed.

 

Now,  if you buy the "Voicemail to text" feature in the web store, you get the same thing as "Instant voicemail", but for more money.  To get the email with audio file service,  you must contact Technical Support.  There is no self-service option.

 

Good luck getting past the chatbot.   It took me an entire day of delays and dropped calls to get one line set up.  The agent who finally solved it was good,  and promised a call back the next day to do our other line.  She even texted me 90 minutes after the appointment to say she was still going to call,  but of course it never happened.

If you're subscribed to the feature, it should be the following steps:

Click on "Features" in the Price Plan and Services tab.

  1. Choose the delivery method as email and select "Yes" next to the option.
  2. Enter the new email address where you want to receive voicemail attachments.
  3. If you want to have a .WAV file attached, select "Yes" next to that option.
  4. Save the changes by clicking "Submit" and "Accept".

This is based on the latest available instructions but if these steps aren't working for you, please let us know.

"Price plans and services tab" ? I don't see any such tab in My Telus.

And, as I and others have mentioned, your customer service agents state categorically that this is not self-service.

As for "let us know", I think that's been the whole point of this thread.

Can you not access my email from the forum data and follow up directly ?


Hi - I don’t see a “Price Plan and Services” tab. I see Account Overview > Plans and Devices > Manage Add-ons and Service > Your current add-ons and it shows Voicemail to text unlimited 8 with text Convert your voicemails to text or audio file and receive them as an email or text message. but there are no buttons or options to do anything.
