T3200M vs Wi-Fi Hub-Whats the difference?

RyDawg

I see Telus, has got a new WiFi Hub since we got out T3200M 3 years ago. Anyone know whats different? Telus doesn't seem to explain what upgrades there are.

A few differences which come to mind:

Boost Mesh Wi-Fi works better with the Wi-Fi hub

It also allows a direct Fibre connection without use of an ONT

The T3200M allows band steering to be on or off; the Wi-Fi hub does not include this setting.

Both allow Lan1 to b bridged.

So if I get a Wi-Fi hub and have PureFibre, does that mean I unplug my ONT and plug the fibre connection directly into the Hub?

Likely no, as they will continue to use the ONT, rather than supply the additional module to replace the ONT.

I just had my T3200 upgraded to the hub last week. They left the ONT alone. Probably only for new installs. The installer also told me if a customer has an issue with the T3200, they only upgrade to the wifi hub if you have Boost; otherwise they just replace the T3200.
