The highly anticipated live-action adaptation of the classic animated series finally arrives.

Avatar: The Last Airbender (Season 1)
After a number of years about this classic Nickelodeon series getting adapted into a live-action series, Avatar: The Last Airbender is finally here. With a blend of martial arts action and fantasy, topped with an intriguing story and must-see characters and costumes, the hype for this series is at an all-time high. In this alternate universe, there are four main nations in a world where some people can telekinetically manipulate one of the four elements through their martial arts. When the only individual who can bend all four, the 'Avatar' is powerless to stop the Fire Nation from attempting to conquer the other groups, the last Air Nomad Aang must embark on a quest to save the world and become the new Avatar.
This trailer definitely shows that the creators of this series are massive fans of the original material, and this is shaping up to be another hit adaptation for Netflix. All 8 episodes of the first season drop on February 22. I'm getting strong fantasy vibes, and it's amazing to see the long loved characters show up in real life. For fans of the series, or even the uninitiated! Jump in...I'm sure you'll enjoy it! Don't miss Avatar: The Last Airbender!
What I'm Watching Now
Beef (Season 1)
Admittedly, I was late to coming around to Beef but after all the buzz it got for the Emmy Awards, etc. I finally sat down and decided to check out the first episode. A few hours and episodes later I realized the error of my ways. Beef is the exact kind of series that I love. A mix of drama, dark comedy, and an almost horror-like urban thriller aspect that made it truly captivating. Starring Steven Yeun (The Walking Dead) and comedian-actress Ali Wong, Beef is the story of two depressed strangers whos involvement in a road rage incident escalates quickly into a prolonged (and violent) feud.
I love shows like this, with storylines similar to other classics like Breaking Bad...where you can't believe the situations these characters get themselves into. But you also can't wait to see what happens when they do. You need the leads in a show like this to have chemistry, and Yeun and Wong have it in abundance. Check out Beef streaming now on Netflix. You won't believe how crazy this gets throughout it's 10 episode run. Must-watch!
