Just signed up with Telus and got the TV box a few days ago. I am noticing that when my Soundbar HDMI is connected to the TV's ARC/eARC port I get an Error msg often when I watch Telus live TV. Streaming without the Telus TV box, I have zero issues. I called Telus and they said the box should work fine with the soundbar connected to the TV using HDMI ARC/eARC.
Has anyone had any luck with ARC/eARC ? My Soundbar is Samsung and Sony TV. Both new

@alawlor Which box did you receive recently? TV+ does natively support HDMI ARC. Can you describe your wiring layout?

Can you request to swap out a PVR box and plain box for TV+ boxes? TV+ boxes are Android boxes? Recordings are in the Cloud?
Otherwise the other option is cancel TELUS TV and lose my 40% discount?

Just got a Sony HTA-3000 with ARC, soundbar to Sony ARC HDMI port 4. TELUS connected to HDMI 1.
No sound from TELUS STB.
TV apps work just fine.
Chromecast with Google TV 4k connected to HDMI port 2 just fine.
I turned on CEC in the TELUS stb settings.
Are there TELUS boxes that support ARC? Sound from TELUS to TV then ARC port to Soundbar.

I'm having the same issue on 2 different TVs. I have a Samsung UN49KS8000F. Input from Telus Optik box by HDMI and Sonos Beam connected by HDMI ARC. If I unplug the Telus HDMI, the soundbar works fine, but if I try to switch to the soundbar with the Telus box HDMI plugged in, there is no sound from the soundbar and the TV shows "connecting." Do I need a new box or is there a setting on the box I can change?

Here are a few steps you can try to resolve:
Check HDMI-CEC Settings:
Ensure that HDMI-CEC (Anynet+ on Samsung TVs) is enabled on your TV and compatible devices. This setting helps devices communicate better.
Adjust Audio Settings:
On your Telus Optik box, go to Settings > Audio > Audio Output and ensure it’s set to Stereo or Dolby Digital, depending on what your Sonos Beam supports.
Change HDMI Ports:
Connect the Telus Optik box to a different HDMI port on your TV (not the ARC port). The ARC port should be reserved for the Sonos Beam.
Test with Different Cables:
Ensure all HDMI cables are high-speed and firmly connected. Faulty cables can sometimes cause communication issues.
Power Cycle All Devices:
- Turn off the TV, Optik box, and Sonos Beam.
- Unplug them from the power source for a few minutes.
- Reconnect and power them on.

I have same issue. Tv and Sonos sound bar work fine, incl surround sound through ARC hdmi. As soon as I plug the optik TV in any of the other HDMI, the sound volume drops. Need to pump volume on tv to 90% to hear.

This seems to have solved my problem:
https://www.amazon.ca/dp/B07BFL8TM8?ref=ppx_yo2ov_dt_b_fed_asin_title
After a lot of searching, I found something that said it has to do with some kind of copyright protection that comes from the Telus box. This attachment keeps that signal from coming through (technically it removes pin 13 from the HDMI connection). Whatever it does, it solved our issue.

There’s a diagram on the Amazon page I think. It goes on the cable from the Telus box to the TV on the end that plugs into the TV
