While it doesn't request anything from me, I don't understand why I am getting it and if it is legit (I haven't asked for anything from Telus)
It is possible someone has applied to port a number on your account to another carrier. This SHOULD be the 2 Factor Authentication requiring the permission of the user of that number to complete the port of the number. If you have a shared account, you might want to ensure the users on it haven't indicated they are satisfied to port the number unless they want to do so.
not a shared account (its corporate).. no other numbers on this account which I have had for over 20 years
