Pvr is off-line msg while skipping ad

Watching a recording, press skip to move through a commercial, recording freezes, message pop-up says Pvr is offline. No, it's not, we're watching a recording!  

Sometimes if we restart the program and FF we can watch through the commercial and then the show. But not always.

This has been happening for months and I'm getting fed up. Got a wifi extender beside the TV and optik box involved so it's not losing connection. 

 

Any suggestions as to why this happens and how do I fix it?

Hi there - do you have this issue on every channel that was recorded or specific ones?

Every channel that was recorded has this issue intermittently. Also when watching live TV and we want to wind back a couple of minutes we get a message that says "it's not available as too many people are watching TV or there are recordings in progress." Which is not true in either case. 

I'm wondering if our optik system needs to be totally dismantled and rebuilt.
