Cloud PVR Buffer

Will this option still be available when the new system rolls out

“When you’re watching a live program, your PVR will automatically save (buffer) it for up to 90 minutes. This allows you to pause, rewind and fast-forward (up to the present moment) whenever you like on a TV connected to any digital box in your home.”

Hi @buckycat

Please note that the support article you've linked to above is a Business TV article - implementations on Consumer TV are normally similar, but not always. In this instance, on the Optik 4K/HD PVR and 4K/HD Wireless Digital Boxes, you can indeed pause for 90 minutes.

On the new TELUS TV Digital Box, you can currently pause live TV for up to 15 minutes before it auto-resumes from the pause point. There is an additional 15 minute buffer that adds once you've started watching, so after 30 minutes, you could rewind as far back to 30 minutes though you can only stayed paused for the 15 minute limit. Some content providers restrict the ability to fast forward to a specific spot, but you can always jump forward to the live point.

We have also recently added the ability to pause live TV (for 15 minutes) and restart programs in progress on the TELUS TV+ app for Pik and Optik subscribers.

It’s the best to record everything even the only restriction on recordings is the expiry after 45 days.
