I switched from shaw to telus at the end of 2024.
they came to my condo and hard sold me on a new fibre optic service. the price was too good. in the switching over and install i was assured telus would cancel my shaw services and re imburse me for the cancel charges. however its 2months later and i just recieved another shaw bill. im still being billed and my services were not cancelled as promised from the telus rep who sold me the package

Telus isn’t going to cancel your Shaw services. I’m pretty sure only you can close your account there. If you’ve read some of the threads here, big mistake coming over to Telus.

i was told be the person who sold me the telus package and the installer that yes they would credit me for all my months owing to shaw and they would call and cancel for me. i didnt have to do anything. said it was there responsibilities. i made sure to confirm. now im stuck with bills still. and my telus fibre optic is slow as ********** compared to my shaw account. only saving grace is its half the price for the promotion period. because they tried to sign my whole 3 buildings up at once. i wish they told me the fibre install had to be in my laundry room 3 whole rooms away from my office and tv. over wifi the signal is degraded so slow its a joke!!

i called them its part of there "easy fast switch over" and yes its something they do for you. as it was sold to me. where i supply them my shaw account info and they do it all. so i called them and after being put on hold they said oh im sorry sir we tried to cancel your account with shaw. but we had a number wrong and it wasnt approved. but did they call or notify me of this? no!. and ive been billed 2 months of shaw until i noticed today. they offered me nothing to make it right. as i have maximum discount on my services already. im goin to talk to a supervisor tomorrow. i think i should be at minimum be given credit against my telus bills for the 2 months of charges

I’m upgraded to 1G fibre and my wifi is slower than when I was on 300MB using the exact same devices. It a joke and I’m pi$$ed off. When my contract runs out, I’m going back to Shaw. I called Telus to cancel my Home Security, same thing happened, was told it was cancelled and no early cancellation fee but they didn’t do it. I had to call in 3x before it was actually cancelled and they still charged me the early cancellation fee. Also, keep a close eye on your monthly billing. Mine increased every month for 5 months even though I’m on a 2 year contract. And it’s almost impossible call and talk to someone. Their stupid bot keeps you going in circles.

same! get this. i found a way to speak to someone at telus. you ask for a call back and they called me within minutes. but the running in circles convo was insane. about the speed of my fibre optic was insane slow. yes i have 2 computers,tv,ps4,phone etc. all on wifi. but who doesnt these days especially with remote workers. there sugestion they made about 5x was to run some lan cables from the modem to my devices. um what!! then why have a giant wifi modem at all then, and one they installed 3 rooms away in my house. where i cannot run wires. unlike my shaw modem literally on my desk where i had it all LAN connected.
