I have a long-distance plan on my landline phone. Recently , I have gotten the message in the title of this post when I try to call certain numbers in the US. These are numbers that I have called before and I donโt believe that I am being intentionally blocked on the other end. Any idea about how to solve this? Many thanks.

It sounds like you're encountering a "call blocked" or "call not permitted" message when trying to dial certain US numbers, even though you've successfully called them before. This can be frustrating, but there are a few things you can try to resolve the issue:
Verify the Dialing Format:
- Double-check that you are using the correct dialing format for the US. Sometimes, small changes (like missing country codes or dialing incorrectly) can cause issues with connecting to numbers. Make sure you are dialing 1 for US numbers followed by the area code and number.
Test with Another Phone:
- If possible, try calling from a different phone or line to see if the issue persists. This will help determine whether the problem is specific to your phone or account.
Reset Your Landline Connection:
- Try disconnecting the phone line from the jack and waiting for a few minutes before plugging it back in. Sometimes a simple reset of the phone line can help resolve these types of issues.
If the above steps donโt work, send us a private message and provide details about the specific numbers you're trying to call. We can get someone to look into this with you.

I am not sure how to send a private message. I did try all three steps and I still get the same message when I try to call those numbers. I have Koodo for my cell service and I am able to call from that phone, but I donโt have a long distance plan on it so I donโt use myself for long-distance calls. Thatโs why I continue to use my landline. Iโm happy to send some of the numbers that I canโt reach, but I donโt want to put it here if itโs going to be public. Thanks very much

At the top right hand of the page is an envelope. Click on that and you should be able to send us a private message.

Does everything have to be the hard way? The envelope at top right is not the easy way. The display is generic and needs a super expert to operate. I have opened a thread on that with no resolution.
just click on the user name for TELUS_Support in the previous post
