The last few days I have been blitzed with a new (to me) spam process. A call will come in from 904682640684 or 23522367987 and when answered immediately leave a message. Clicking/selecting that message brings up a prompt that the call "may" incur long distant charges. Yesterday I was blessed with 5 calls within 20 min.. a brief interlude and then again.. several times.. Finally turned my phone off.

Log on to My TELUS and turn on call control. It's free.

I looked into that but as I understand it.. activating it, challenges all calls. I am a volunteer driver for seniors (https://drivehappiness.ca/) and get many calls from seniors that do not need a new level of complexity when they call. If, I could register only some numbers.. and leave the rest it would work, but I don't think it works that way.

I checked out Drive Happiness. Looks like they provide a much needed service.
What phone do you have? I have an Android phone and I can block specific phone numbers on it.

Depending on your phone you may have be able to block those numbers.

Problem with that is that some of those numbers are real numbers that the scammers piggy back on top of. I know one person who got a call from her OWN NUMBER!

I got 15 calls today, from 6 different numbers. All the same, phone rings twice and goes to message. All numbers are “odd” and if one clicks on the number in the message I get “long distance charges may apply”.. So, guessing, this is one of those $30.00 a minute scams to listen to.. nothing, or an add for a back scratcher.

Thank for the link.. kind of what I was expecting. I had another blitz today.. but only 6. I don’t even bother pulling my phone out of my pocket until I get at least 2 solid rings.
