Why can't Telus techs get their poop together??
Sat on the phone for 1.5hours today to talk to a customer rep who then transfered me to a tech where I waited another 30minutes. The guys said he could take care of this. Sat on hold for 20 more minutes while he went and did his thing. Said he problem would be resolved in an hour and would call back to confirm.
No call back, problem not solved.
Called back to sit on hold again for 30minutes to be told what I need done can not happen.
I just want to open a port is all and I guess hitting some buttons is too hard for these techs!!
Really time I will ever get back to be screwed around again!!!

Port forwarding isn't something tech support typically provides assistance with. They also can't just hit some buttons to magically make it work either. Port forwarding is done at your home on the router/gateway Telus provided to you. There are a few pre-requisites though. It'll depend on which gateway you have, which port you're trying to open (a select few can't be forwarded), and whether or not the gateway has a public IP. If it doesn't have a public IP, there's no easy fix. Provide more details and there are those here that may be able to point you in the right direction.
Which router or gateway do you have?
What port are you trying to forward?
Which program or game is it for?
To determine if your gateway has a public IP, go to 192.168.1.254 and locate the Modem / WAN / Internet IP address. After that go to whatismyip.com and see if the IPv4 address matches. If it does, then there's a chance you may be able to get a port forwarded.
