Internet "upgrade" potential scam?

Hi, I've been getting calls from "Fibre Support" for the past week or so, no voicemails sent, and finally picked up to ask what they wanted, they claim that I could get fibre for 65$ a month, and I got an email "confirming" what was discussed from [email protected] . Are these people legit? The person attached was somebody named Brenda, and the email was sent by their "email manager" (whatever that means-). I figured I'd look into this here and see if anybody knows if they're actually partnered with Telus, or if they tried to scam me

Their website lists them as a Telus authorized dealer and Telus does make mention of them in an out of the way corner on their website also. If you'd rather deal with Telus directly to rule out any concern of dealing with a possible reseller, that's an option you can definitely take too. Vantaa's Richmond BC store looks like a tiny shop in a mall.

Normally if someone was trying to sell something, "support" isn't what I'd normally expect to be part of the name of the department calling.

The email you received from [email protected] is not from Telus but can be from an affiliate.

  • Official Telus Emails: Emails from Telus will always come from an address ending in @TELUS.com.
  • Personal Information Requests: Telus will never ask for sensitive personal information such as your PIN, passwords, or credit card details via email.
  • Unsolicited Offers: Be cautious of unexpected offers or deals, especially from unfamiliar email addresses or domains.

This claim from TELUS SUPPORT saying that this is a scam is totaly wrong and irresponsible.

Vantaaenterprise is a legit authorized dealer of TELUS, and it is quite funny to see that TELUS officially label its own authorized dealer as scam.

Official response from telus claim that TELUS authorized dealer is NOT "any of our legitimate affiliates. This appears to be a scam." This is quite funny and if I were the dealer store, I would feel extremely disappointed to be called a scam after spending lots of money to open a TELUS store then be labeled as "spam" by TELUS.

We're sorry for the confusion regarding our previous response. We have since updated our statement to clarify the situation. Our intent was to caution customers about potential scams, but we recognize that our initial wording may have caused misunderstanding. We sincerely apologize for any frustration this may have caused. Thank you for bringing this to our attention.
