Another rant .. because of missed recordings.
My contract started in April, 2023 and so will expire in a couple of months.
Since the beginning, series recordings have been frustratingly broken ... unbelievably broken. The android TV based OptikTV has never had the ability to set a simple "New" series recording by program! All series recordings are tied to a program AND channel tuple!
This is frustrating for all programs but especially so on sports programs. TSN and Sportsnet have a habit of moving a sports series to different channels, if I wasn't smart enough to include all potential channels (i.e. make 4 or 5 channel recordings for the same series), OptikTV will miss a recording.
As another side effect, if the program happens to be shown on multiple TSN channels, they all get recorded at the same time and due to this, I will lose other recordings because I run out of available concurrent recording slots. Aaaggghh.
Why can't I simply set a recording that is based on the earliest showing of a "New" series program on any available channel, so it reliably records programs and only records once; like how every other live TV provider works.
Will this extremely bad design choice (amongst many others) by Telus ever be fixed?
