Let's take a look at some of the highly anticipated titles streaming in May as well as what I'm hooked on now!
Coming To Netflix in May
- May 4 - Queen Charlotte: A Bridgerton Story
- The first Bridgerton spin-off series goes back in time for an origin story surrounding Queen Charlotte.
- May 12 - The Mother
- Action thriller starring Jennifer Lopez as a female assassin forced to come out of retirement to protect her daughter.
- May 25 - FUBAR (Season 1)
- Action comedy series starring none other than Arnold Schwarzenegger as a CIA operative forced to undertake one last mission.
Most Anticipated
FUBAR (Season 1)
Of course this is the most anticipated title dropping in May. Are you surprised? The first major TV project for the legend himself Arnold Schwarzenegger is FUBAR which drops towards the end of the month. He stars as Luke, alongside Monica Barbaro (Top Gun: Maverick) as his daughter Emma. For years, they've lied to each other in one major way: both are highly classified CIA operatives, yet neither is aware of this truth about the other person! Once they both learn about each other's real lives however, things get out of hand.
Luke is on the verge of retirement and is forced back into the field for one last important job. Obviously, this has been on my must-watch list since first being announced a while back, and once I heard it would have the same vibe as classic Arnold movies like True Lies you can best believe I was all in. Nobody does action mixed with the right amount of humor like Arnold, and you know where I'll be when all 8 episodes of the first season of FUBAR drop May 25th!
What I'm Watching Now
Outlast (Season 1)
Having just finished the first season of Outlast it's no question that it's one of the better reality shows I've seen. Not being a massive reality TV fan means I'm a bit more picky with what ones I'll actually watch but make no mistake...Outlast delivered. Sixteen individuals are dropped into the middle of the Alaskan wilderness and split into four equal teams. These people are self-described as 'lone wolves' but must work in these teams and aren't allowed to play the game on their own. Given meager supplies and forced to survive off the land in the extreme temperature and danger, the last team to survive splits a massive cash prize.
All 8 episodes are currently streaming on Netflix and you don't want to miss this. There's plenty of drama if that's your thing, but also a lot of intrigue as the premise itself is more than just a Survivor clone. These contestants are given almost nothing to survive and when temperatures drop to below freezing and the rain never stops...you know things get intense. Each episode is crazier than the last...don't miss it!
