Poor quality
I just changed over to the optik Android box. The picture quality is absolutly terrible. Its dark, and the HD quality is almost to the point of being standard definition. I have been on the phone 2 times one time was close to 2 hours trying to fix the problem, but no resolution to the problem. Has anyone else have this problem? It's so frustrating that I am looking at going elsewhere when my contract is up in February.

HD quality is very compressed, leaving relatively poor quality, especially on recordings, which seem to take another step back. I've actually been pretty happy with Sportsnet 4K for hockey.
For clarification. Is good picture Prime bypassing the tuner and HDMI cable direct to the TV to deliver better picture.
Previously, changing the HDMI cable improved quality.
Prime was part of the Google page on my Sony remote. When I watch it I use the Sony remote not the new Android remote.
I did the upgrade to the newest TeluTv-24S and I regret it, the picture quality is terrible, really terrible. I finally got a new TV 4K Dolby Vision etc, the old 4K device impressed me every time i turned it on. the new 24S sucks in comparison. Stay with the old box!
Wish I would have read this sooner, I upgraded (???) to the TelusTv-24S. The picture quality is terrible. Stay with your old Telus 4K. This is not an upgrade. Very disappointed withe the 24S.
I have already done that, still horrible image quality. Talked to support and the lady told me this is a common complaint on this box. Apparently it is not possible to hook up the old box I have and they have to send a replacement Telus 4K box. I hope that works otherwise I will have to move to Shaw.
Same problem here. Upgraded(???) to the 24S and watching the Oilers. First time with the 24S and it is BAD!! Looks like another 2 hour call to revert back to the old box that worked very well.
Not sure what you mean, is that a setting on the 24S? YouTube is giving me a good image quality at 1080p and 4K. This box does not.
Same here, the old 4K box is much better, long story but it took a long time with tech support to get the 24S running. I'm watching on the 24S box for the first time after an upgrade and the Oilers game looks BAD. Tried to plugin the old box but it has been disconnected. Will have to wait till tomorrow because I'm sure it will be another 2 hour call.

I had a 4k like resolution on my Sony Bravia Smart TV with the optik pvr box. Now with the new optik android box the picture is washed out and dark and a very very poor HD quality. I have been on the phone with tech support twice and nothing has improved. If picture quality doesn't improve by the time my contract is up in February, I will be looking elsewhere for my television supplier. Maybe I need a technician to look at it.

When I watch Prime that was downloaded from the app on my Sony Bravia, the picture is perfect. So it must be the Android box. WHY???
