I was a customer...
But now I'm not and haven't been for years. Recently, I discovered that I have an outstanding balance of $6 that has been harming my credit score for years. I thought I paid the balance when I closed the account as I received no paperwork or phone calls to tell me I still had a balance of $6. I don't know the phone number. I don't know the account number but I think I will have the information needed to access this account if I could kindly speak to a person. The chat agent AI is unhelpful and the phone queue is 1hr+ wait time.
I just wanna pay the $6 so it can stop hurting my credit.

My mobile account term just ended.
Last week I talked to an agent and came up with a new plan a week ahead of the ending. He was to email me the new agreement, he didn't.
To my surprise I was informed I had late charges even though I paid the total amount on the website.
Then I was told I had agreed to a bigger account, money per month. I refused this adamantly in the discussion with the first agent.
The new agent is just like talking to the AI, not much of a difference and unable to confirm the previous agents agreement with me.
The late charge evidently was generated when my account was billed and extra $28 and not added to the amount I needed to pay online.
The conversation, which was recorded is unavailable because I won't agree to a new higher paid agreement, I am told I have to agree with the new terms before they will consider the previous agreement. Blackmail?
I used to have customer loyalty perks for better than 25 years, since they started. I also have "bundle" agreements.
The other issue is the automatic withdrawals, how can anyone have confidence if withdrawals will happen that are unknown?
I paid the additional amount now that I know about it but am looking at changing to a different provider.
The agent I spoke to now sound like they worked in a sweat shop, I could clearly hear at least 15 other agents talking in the back ground and this agent only read what was posted on the web page anyway, just reading a script. When I ask to talk to customer loyalty or retention they said that was who they were.
AND I only had to wait just over an hour hearing the same song over and over. Online I am still awaiting an agent, 6 hours now.
Yes they would have placed an over due amount on my account without me knowing if I had automatic payments, they certainly never informed me of the new amounts on a contract I didn't want or agree to.
i know I am small potato but I have lost confidence in their customer relations.

Hi Mantisfeasto - usually the last bill is sent via email so I do recommend checking there but regardless if the amount is hitting your credit then the account will have been sent to collections already.
What we can do is find out which agency the amount went to and provide you with their phone number. Alternatively, if you check your credit report it will show the company that is the owner of the debt as well.
You can send us a private message to TELUS_Support and we will take a look

Really love this credit score stuff.
If they do a credit check it affects your score and if you didn't authorize it they won't take it off because they didn't give you any credit so they don't have any information.
ALL LOANS and CREDIT now use credit scores to make judgements of credit worthiness.
How these credit reporting companies are not regulated is baffling, they are essentially partners with every credit provider in making decisions.
They even can increase credit percentage rates by doing credit checks, the lower the score the higher the interest rate.
I once had one of these credit brokers working for GM get the best rate, Tuesday I was offered a car at 8.0%, by Thursday it was 12.6% just because of the credit checks, some by TD who did three, one every day which lowered my score by 18pts, just enough with all the others to go from 720 to 660, a 80 pt drop and I only signed for one credit check with the broker.
There are no legitimate (RBC, TD, CIBC, ....) money lending institutions that will lend money without relying almost totally on the credit score which they can manipulate.
