Bring it back phone

When Telus called me regarding renewing my contract they wanted to charge me the connection fee on 3 lines. So instead of renewing with telus I signed up a new contract with another provider. I went to the Telus store at Glen Erin Drive in Mississauga today (27/2/2026) to return the Bring it back phone. This is before the two year contract expires. They told me that I cannot return the phone since the lines are not with Telus now. This was not told when I signed up with Telus initially. What could I do now?

    If you cancelled the account while in the middle of a contract, I'd expect a balance owing to Telus in accordance with the terms of your contract. That would include whatever balance remains from the bring it back phone(s).

    Telus Bring it Back terms and conditions on their FAQ states:

    Bring-It-Back™ program is only available while you subscribe to mobility service. If mobility service is cancelled before the end of the term, the Bring-It-Back™ program amount will be charged to your TELUS bill.
