Why won't my Galaxy S25 not charge?

My phone died and has been plugged in for 30 minutes, not a single percentage. I am using the same cord I have used since I have bought it, which has had no problems  charging it before. My phone shows the white charging symbol but when i try to turn it on it immediately shuts off.

Telus' very helpful virtual assistant told me to download a battery diagnosis app...which I can't because, you know, my phone is dead. The next option was to have a Telus agent call me, which again, I can't do. What are my other options?

I would really prefer not having to drive 4 hours just to talk to an agent in person.

  • What charger are you using? Does that charger work for charging other devices?

When you you purchase the phone from TELUS? It should still be under warranty.

Possibly you have some dust/lint in the charging port. Turn off the phone and use a toothpick to clean out the port and hopefully that's all it is.

Hello Code50, that sounds incredibly frustrating—there is nothing quite like being stuck in a loop where the "solutions" require the very device that isn’t working. Suggesting a battery app for a phone that won't turn on is definitely a "facepalm" moment for our AI, and I’m sorry you hit that wall.

Since you're four hours away from a store, let's see what else we can try. First, are you able to test that same cable and charger on another device to confirm it's working properly ? if it does, it may be a a hardware issue but we still can't know for sure. Do you happen to have a wireless charger that you can try ? Also, did you reach out to the Samsung support team ? They were able to help me with my Smartwatch few years ago and since it's their product, they may have other suggestions. Keep us posted !
