I wanted to watch "Never Rarely Sometimes Always" and a search returns a French version on Crave but not the English version (unless you pay).
I'm wondering if there is a licensening issue or something else going on? This is not the first time I've seen the French version available on Crave but not the English one.

Hey @FuzzyLogic - that's surprising. Let me check with the team

While you are checking ask them why too many streams have subtitles in multiple languages except ENGLISH

After checking with the team, this happens from time to time and indeed it's a licensing issue. We found this old thread: https://www.reddit.com/r/cravetv/comments/16qrkrp/movies_in_french_but_not_english/

I believe National Lampoons Christmas Vacation was available in French but Not English, Weird for sure. Theat's licensing for you.

That is absurb, only licensed in French is very hard to believe in a country that must use English and French on all labels.

As somebody that was born in Quebec and lived there for 30 years I can tell you that if this happened in reverse ( movie or show only available in English ) the crap would hit the fan big time. 😄

I can't remember the name of the series but last year my GF and I started watching a show on Crave VOD. After the 2nd season wrapped up on a cliffhanger we were disappointed to see that only the first 2 seasons were available in English but Crave VOD in French had the complete 5 seasons of the show.

I guess the techs hired by Telus only speak french, that would explain a lot.

I lived and learned French on the streets as a kid. People are great, politics not. You are so correct @BobArthur
Now that you mention it, it does explain the many no english or french shows, not just regular TV, not having an english subtitile. Maybe this will help.
