My situation is eerily similar to those posted on this thread. I had a 2 salespeople at my door on the Friday before Labour day this year. I explained that I was happy with my provider. He said he had an offer that I must hear and pestered me to tell him my current services and their cost. After a while he showed me a price less than 1/2 what I was paying. Obviously this peaked my interest and asked if I could visit the Telus store to get further information. He said was in the area today only and the offer wouldn't be available. Mike showed me on his I pad my neighbours that had signed up. We spoke for over an hour. I continually questioned the offer and it's validity, He showed he his Telus ID and access to the Telus system. Finally I agreed to try the offer. He said because they were in the area there would be no installation charges. I was a greatly concerned when he changed my sim card on the spot. He said the Home Security would call to set up a install time. I made an appointment for the next week. The installer called me multiple times to move the appointment up, He came on the holiday weekend, mike the salesperson said my modem and internet connection would take a while longer and be delivered to my door.
End of a long story, I never got my internet. I did get a bill with installation charges and extras which amounted to greater than my old provider. Mike had left me his personal cell phone. I called and texted a few times. He said sorry he'd get it fixed. I've never heard from him again.
Telus now is threatening to cut off my phones if I don't pay. That means pay an amount I didn't agree with.
I've been to two Telus stores question the situation. Both store told me that the door to door people are not Telus employees but third party hires and promise things Telus won't back up. Telus knows this and allow it??
Do I just consider myself another retired senior who got taken by Telus?
