Voicemail Translation
Voicemail Translation is a service that lets TELUS Mobility customers with a postpaid plan translate their voicemails from English/French to the following available languages:
- English
- French
- Mandarin
- Cantonese
- Punjabi
This service is currently only available via VoLTE (Voice over LTE) and/or Wi-Fi Calling.
How do I enable Voicemail Translation?
You can enable this service with the following steps:
1. Log in to your My TELUS account
2. Select Plans & Devices and navigate to your mobility service (if you have more than one service)
3. Select Manage Add-Ons & Services
4. Select Other optional add-ons
5. Scroll down to check off the box next to Voicemail Translation
6. Select the green Continue to review button, and finalize the order.
How does it work?
- First time users will be required to set up the preferred language to translate their voicemails into, by dialing *96 and following the automated IVR menu to be guided through the setup process.
- After setup, you can listen to your translated voicemails by dialing *96 from your VoLTE-compatible mobile phone.
Can I use it while roaming outside of Canada?
This service requires VoLTE Roaming to be accessible outside of Canada. For more information, visit our VoLTE Support page here.
How is it secured?
To protect your privacy and security, you will be required to input your mobile voicemail password each time you access this service.
Do I need to pay to use Voicemail Translation?
Not at this time. This service is currently offered free of charge and you may cancel the service via your My TELUS account at any time without penalty. *Data charges may apply when using this service while in VoLTE Roaming.
