upgrading to newer phone.

so i don't understand why when you want to upgrade to  a newer phone you have to get  a new plan. why do we have to get something don't want and plus don't have the money for. makes no sense because of that don't want to upgrade. Tried to upgrade wifes phone yesterday and was worse 2 hours. anyways i don't think it's necessary.

You don't have to upgrade to get a new device.  If you want an EIP, then you might be required to be on an in-market plan.  You can always purchase a phone in full or places like BestBuy do have their own payment options with their store cards.  There are a couple of places, like Visions Electronics, that also offer payment plans on just about all electronics, including cellphones and tablets.
