Does anyone know if normal to take up to 3-5 hrs on reg wall plug? I have a wall brick here it was hot so unplugged it and plugged into my netbook USB thanks

That will depend a lot on what wall brick you have since the A54 doesn't come with a charger. If it's a charger that is too old, too weak, or a dirt cheap unsafe charger, anything is possible. Make sure you are using a good quality charger.

Thanks, I put the original cord into the 4 USB splitter with the c type plug said Please check the connection. so I plugged into my Macbook Air and finally charged. if I use my Macbook Air plug to charge hope it won't wreck I just ordered a block from Wish.

Avoid a Wish power block. That site is one to avoid if you value your devices. USB splitters aren't recommended either unless you have a good quality powered splitter.
If your MacBook Air power adapter has USB C, use that one, or just plug your phone directly into your computer to charge. If not, pick up a half decent charger from Amazon. They're not that expensive for a 20W charger.

Ok, I will continue to plug into the Macbook directly. thanks for the advice. is it best to charge overnight? I close the apps when done as well.

It's best to unplug any device being charged as soon as possible when it reaches 100%. Some devices prevent overcharging and some chargers prevent overcharging but it's much safer to assume they don't.
I second @Nighthawk advice on only using known brand chargers with track record. Not only from a charging safety perspective but also from a malware perspective. USB ports are also data ports and an avenue for malware. That's why I usually avoid public USB charging stations (airports, etc.). When travelling I carry a charge only USB cable (no data capabilities) in case I need to use public USB charging.
