Ubiquiti (Dream Machine SE), second ONT Port vs Splitter... and POTS

Hello.

We have a Nokia ONT, and we have a Telephone 'land line' connected to that (POTS port).  We have the ActionTec T3200 and Optik TV.

I'm adding a Ubiquiti Dream Machine SE.  Ultimately I would like to ditch the ActionTec, or perhaps use it as a Basement Suite network - though maybe keeping it all on the DMSE is better(?).

Questions:

1) The optik fibre could go direct into the Dream Machine.  However, I think the only way to maintain the POTS service is with the Nokia ONT, correct?

2) Somewhere on these forums I read that you should be able to get 2 network addresses assigned (one for the T3200, one for the DMSE); I tried connecting the DMSE to the second port on the Nokia - no luck there.  So, the only remedies are either the use of a switch immediately out of the ONT Port 1, or Daisy Chain through the T3200 (with Bridge Mode enabled) to the DMSE.  Is that correct?

3) Somewhere on these forums I recall reading that some folks got their Optik TV to work over their Ubiquiti device by enabling IGMP (service? protocol?) in the Unifi settings (not that I know what that is or where to find it).  Is that correct?

Thanks!

1) The ONT is needed for POTS service.

2) The ONT only has ONE active port on it. You can get two IPs but you need a gigabit switch between the ONT and the two routers that will be used. Bridging the Actiontec isn't always the best solution. If it was my network, I'd use the switch.

3) Optik needs multicast enabled on the network to function. That is only applicable if you have the older Optik boxes. If you have the new Android TV based box, that one doesn't need multicast.
