I currently have PureFibre service in BC. The fibre terminates into an ONT, which plugs into the SFP port of a T3200M modem. Then I have an ethernet connection from the modem to the router.
I have my eyes on an Asus RT-BE88U because it has an SFP+ port and faster wifi than my currenter wifi router. Could I simply remove the modem from the equation? And then plug the ONT into the SFP+ port an Asus RT-BE88U? Are there other things to consider? I want to eliminate any hardware if possible.
btw, still learning the terminology. So please correct me if I got anything wrong.
