Thanks for correcting me. I definately do not have an ONT 🙂 I was confusing ONT with what I think is an sfp optical module. Thanks for the suggestion. I've had the T3200M bridged for several years, working with an older model of Asus router. Can you share details about the important settings and configurations on the T3200M related to the ONT? I want to remove the modem from my setup, and a router with an SFP(+) port seems to accomplish that as long as it can be configured to handle the ONT correctly. I currently have PureFibre service in BC. The fibre terminates into an ONT, which plugs into the SFP port of a T3200M modem. Then I have an ethernet connection from the modem to the router. I have my eyes on an Asus RT-BE88U because it has an SFP+ port and faster wifi than my currenter wifi router. Could I simply remove the modem from the equation? And then plug the ONT into the SFP+ port an Asus RT-BE88U? Are there other things to consider? I want to eliminate any hardware if possible. btw, still learning the terminology.
