Did you mean:

Not in service messages

telus changed me to fibre optics last week and since then, people calling me on my land line are getting “not in service or this number is not assigned messages”. This does not happen every time someone calls, as I have been receiving some calls. It doesn’t matter whether or not the caller is using their cell phone or their land line. This happens when I am not using the phone. It also doesn’t seem to matter if I have messages waiting to be heard.

i have been in the basement and all the connections look fine.

Any thoughts?

A not in service recording when called has nothing to do with the equipment or connections at your residence. Call Telus. Tell them you are unable to receive phone calls and most callers get those recordings. They'll need to make sure your number is assigned in all the right places on their end.

@JD2  Did you have your phone line moved to fiber.  Possible problem to invesigate.
