Internet “Outage”.

Now heading into day five of an internet outage. Yes, five days of zero internet. And I live in Burnaby, not in the middle of the wilderness! I am trying to connect with clients via online platforms and use my email and the many other things I randomly use the internet for. No TV, no streaming, no laptop usage, no connection at all. I’ve called Telus three times, had virtually the same response “there is an internet outage. It will be fixed soon.” I am livid! I am so angry. Useless company with no interest in customer service. This “outage” is costing me my income. Oddly enough, they don’t even list any internet outages! So someone is lying, either the person in the phone with me or their website. I don’t even think anyone is working there. This is unacceptable. Is there really an outage? Does anyone there give a sh-t? How does an outage take five days and counting to fix? There is no way this company should still be in existence. Thanks to Telus, I can’t make an income this week. Good luck getting me to pay your bill. Shaw/Rogers, I’d be happy to sign up!

Having the exact same issue in Edmonton, AB and about to go onto day 5 with no internet access. This is also affecting business I need to do from home and support is telling me the exact same excuse multiple times a day. There is an “outage”, it will be “fixed soon”. I have questioned numerous support agents and the original technician that came out as to why Telus hasn’t reported this 4 day outage and none of them can give me a good excuse. A couple told me they would escalate this matter to make sure it’s reported and every time I check throughout the day there is STILL nothing posted publicly on their “known outages” map. What’s the point of offering your customers this feature if you aren’t going to update it accurately or be transparent! I’d rather know how bad the situation is than keep hearing “I don’t know”, “thank you for your patience, it will be fixed soon”. I sure hope there is decent compensation on the bills of all the customers in this area that have been unable to use any home services all week!

Not defending Telus on this.

Do you not have a cell phone to create a hotspot? At least you can read emails. not perfect but a workaround.

Yep! That’s been just about the only thing I’m able to do is use my phone via. hotspot but certain devices that normally run off my internet won’t accept my hotspot. I especially need my printer right now and it won’t work using my hotspot unfortunately. I’m just shocked it’s taken 5 days to resolve this and still no word online or an ETA.

Odd, have not run into that, unless device does not have wifi,

Did you run ethernet from computer hotspot to lan input on a router?
