Im running an Apache web server. Have my domain forwarded to my public IP. The server works as i can ping it and see it on my lan. I have forwarded and enabled communications on port 80 in the modem/router Firewall setting in both directions. However, whenever i type in my domain into the browser it comes up as a different ip and times out.
I have been trying to tinker with this for the past two weeks. I had it working when i lived back in Ontario. HELP!!! no idea what's going on. For some reason it always comes back as "198.53.249.210 can not be found" and that is NOT my public IP adress.
Im clueless

As far as I know Telus still blocks port 80 for incoming traffic on residential accounts. You would need a business account to use that port. I have a Synology NAS setup with web access but had to use alternate ports to make it work.
You will also need to do port forwarding on your router for the ports you assign to your web server. If you have a T3200M this may help:

I've got a basic web server running on my home connection. I'm on fibre and using a T3200M gateway.
One key thing to also be aware of is that you will not be able to access your own website from the same LAN/connection that the server is on. You'll need a computer / tablet / phone that's either on cellular or a VPN to be able to test if your server is working if you enter your public IP directly or the domain name if it's forwarded to that IP correctly.
