Discounts removed "by back office"

Hi - I renewed my TELUS home services Dec 31, 2024, and in the service agreement, it included a number of discounts that compelled me to stay with TELUS for another two years (specifically it was 3 "TTV 24 MO Equipment Discounts" of $10) and good till 2026 on the Optik TV service. Then on February 27, 2025 I received a "modified" service account email with all the discounts removed. I called and was advised by the agent that the "back office" said there was "too much of a discount" applied in that agreement.

While the email with the modified agreement says I have 10 days to cancel, the call agent said I don't? Without those discounts I am not interested in having this service. Have others had experience with this situation to either have the discounts restored or the ability to cancel within 10 days of the modified agreement being received? Thanks!

Just Moved In

Good luck. When I signed up in December of 2023 I only agreed to a security camera because I was told I could cancel it without penalty at any time and I got some extra discounts if I took it when I signed up. the agent said I had to set it up within 30 days to retain the discounts on my account but I could then remove it. It's been over a year and we have no use for the camera. I just read through my agreement while waiting for a call back, and I am committed for three years with a massive penalty to cancel. This is not at all what I was told on the phone. The phone agents will say anything to make a sale, including flat out lying.
