Connection Fee to get a new phone?

derekh
Neighbour

On the corporate plan with 2 lines, and was charged for 3 connection fees to get 2 new phones. 1 of the 3 is a mistake (that I had to call in to have removed), but even the other 2 $70 charges -  Why is there a connection fee for a plan I've had for 6 years?

Apparently you can have it waived if you order online, but then there's a delivery fee.

Anyways, it's just not a great way to keep me as a customer.  I was connected, why do I need to be connected again?  I'm in with them now, but I will be switching to another provider once these phones are paid off.  Koodo (Telus network) doesn't have a connection fee when I bring these phones over to them.

Kinda sad - I was happy with Telus

While connection fees are standard when renewing ( https://www.telus.com/en/support/article/service-fees ), we do want to keep you as a client Derekh. When the time comes for renewals, send us a PM here or let the Loyalty Dept. know that you'd like them to waive it if possible.
