What is ICloud, I've seen the term and heard a little about it but what is it exactly for and how does one go about using it. Is there a comparable service offered on android or BB ? Thanks !

Hey there CritterHunter,
As KittyGumDropz has mentioned in her post, iCloud is a virtual for iOS devices. Think of it as a cloud where your iPhone's data is protected and stored so if anything happens to your phone you will have a backup copy. It stores your contacts, calendars, notes, reminders, photos, etc. I think the following link will show the huge benefits of iCloud and what it does behind-the-scenes: http://goo.gl/aPZfO
To further answer your question, there are similar alternatives on Android & BlackBerry.
On Android, Gmail can help you backup your contacts, calendar, etc on the cloud as well. These are the instructions for a Samsung Galaxy S4 that apply to most Android devices: http://goo.gl/Y8qoCp
Also for Android, you have the option of the Google Drive which will allow you to store data in the cloud. This might enlighten you on its features: http://goo.gl/7uM7SX
For BlackBerry, the alternative to iCloud would be BlackBerry Protect which backs up your phone wireless (like the previous alternatives) in case of lost/stolen or broken phone. You can find out more information about it here: http://goo.gl/yuPqMh
Hope that answers all your questions 🙂
