PrimeVideoBlueBG.jpg

May is almost here already, and the days are getting longer! As we can all agree, there's nothing better than kicking back and checking out that new movie your coworkers keep talking about, checking out the latest episodes of your favourite series, or seeing what scary new horror movies are available! Prime Video is the place to be for all of the above, and next month brings a slew of great new content to dig into.

As you may know, Prime Video is part of the Optik TV experience, and the Prime Video app is also on the Optik TV 4K media box as well. It's never been easier to sign up! There's always great new original content available, not to mention a ton of classic movies and shows to check out! Let's dive in!

Coming to Prime Video in May

May 16 - Outer Range (Season 2)

Outer Range is finally back! After the first season last year, I've been waiting for word on another season after the crazy cliffhanger we were given to end things...and finally we'll get some answers! One of the best sci-fi series in a long time, Outer Range tells of Royal Abbott (the always amazing Josh Brolin), a rancher battling for his property and family who discovers an unbelievable phenomenon at the edge of his Wyoming land...a massive hole in the ground. Seemingly, a portal to...somewhere else. I won't spoil too much of what happens (you need to watch the first season right away!) but obviously, the second season looks to be ramping things up considerably!

There's some intriguing science fiction, here. Royal and his wife Cecelia are clearly going to be in the fight of their lives in the aftermath of their granddaughter's sudden disappearance (guess where she fell into), and the stakes have never been higher. The Abbots look to be facing threats from multiple fronts, and times! I can't wait to see how it all unfolds when season two drops May 16 on Prime Video!

Fallout (Season 1)

Anyone that knows me, knows how much of a fan I am of the Fallout franchise. From the setting to the soundtrack, I've played every one of the games (I may even be currently on yet another playthrough of Fallout 4 but that's a different story) so naturally when a show was announced I was both overjoyed and skeptical. Could they match the game? Could they add to the lore and universe without it being derivative or boring? Then the pieces started to come together...Jonathan Nolan came onboard to helm the show. Walton Goggins signed on as a ghoul. Set pictures started to leak...and let me tell you. This show is perfect. Every glowing review and tweet I've seen about it online over the past few weeks is warranted.

Fallout takes place in a fictional near future timeline, after nuclear war has devastated the planet. Most fled to underground vaults to survive and keep humanity going, with those on the surface forced to endure an existence full of radiation and danger. Ella Purnell shines as the main protagonist Lucy, embarking on a mission up on the surface to find her father after he was taken out of their beloved Vault 33. There she befriends one of the Brotherhood of Steel and a ghoul, among raiders, mutated creatures, and other life-threatening enemies.

They've captured the look and campy humor of the series as well, with a soundtrack, characters, and locations taken directly out of the game. You can tell this series was made by fans of the series, and with Nolan at the helm you are in for a treat...fan of the video game or not. All eight episodes of the terrific Fallout series are streaming now on Prime Video. Don't miss it!
