Most Anticipated

Rebel Moon - Part Two: The Scargiver

I'm so pumped that the second half of Zack Snyder's science fiction epic 'Rebel Moon' is finally here! Snyder made his purpose very clear with this...he wanted to create his own Star Wars. A rich universe that he could continuously expand upon, and with the first part of Rebel Moon he definitely did just that. I'm a huge fan of what he did with the first movie-length half, and despite it's mixed reception I found the characters to be interesting, and worlds he built rich with possibility, and the setup for this finale very ambitious. This next chapter may very well determine if it continues, and from what I've heard about what we can expect...the odds are in Snyder's favor!

While Part One admittedly spent a large part of its runtime setting the scene for the story to unfold, Part Two: The Scargiver looks like it's chock full of non-stop action and some very serious consequences for all of the characters involved. Kora has now returned to her home planet after thinking she'd taken care of the imperial Motherworld's cruel Admiral Atticus Noble...but as you just saw, he's not dead and a war for the fate of Veldt and the galaxy itself is about to happen. I can't wait to see how it all plays out. Don't miss it when it hits Netflix on April 19!

What I'm Watching Now

The Signal

As a huge sci-fi thriller fan, The Signal definitely caught my eye when scrolling for the next series to watch. I admittedly hadn't even heard about it before seeing it on Netflix, and I'm happy to say it was the happiest of surprises. This four-part German miniseries delivers both in terms of science fiction and a thrilling storyline that takes a few shocking twists and turns! The Signal is about a German astronaut Paula who lies about her hallucinations to be chosen for a mission on the International Space Station.

Her research aboard the ISS is thrown into upheaval however when she hears a radio transmission from space; the first possible sign of alien life. Wanting to follow her first instinct to let the world know of the amazing news, an unexpected danger befalls her...a danger that could shake the very world. I don't want to spoil anything else here, but rest assured once you realize what the danger is, you'll be hooked. The plot twist here is something I never saw coming, and it's cliffhanger after cliffhanger as the story barrels toward its conclusion.

It's best to go into this series fairly blind so you get to be as surprised as I was, and believe me when I say this is bingeworthy stuff...I finished the series in two sittings! If you're a fan of suspenseful outer space stories (i.e. Gravity or Spaceman) then you owe it to yourself to check out The Signal, streaming now on Netflix!
