Dear Neighbours,
We’re experimenting with different formats to assure you we’re listening and working on improvements to the TELUS TV platforms. We have frequent releases designed to tackle the platform's immediate and long-term stability, and we’ll do our best to keep this thread up to date with each new release to celebrate our wins together.
Please note this is not an exhaustive list; minor customer-facing fixes and non-customer-facing backend work are not included. (Note: Previous updates removed due to character limits on post)

I'm not sure I'm following, so here's what I can tell you.
1. There are 2 places to access your favourite channels: the home screen (see screenshot) and in the guide, with the filter set to favourites. There was a bug some months ago where this filter wasn't persistent from session to session, but this was resolved awhile ago. You should see 'My favourite channels' in the top left of your guide view when the filter is active.
2. When in the guide, tapping the d-pad (or wheel around the OK button) up or down moves the focus on the guide cell up or down one cell. Tapping left or right moves the focus left or right one cell. Pressing and holding has the effect of fast-scrolling. Programming a double-tap is complicated timing-wise, as users have different tapping speeds and some might want to jump 6 while others might only want to move 2 cells. This will help some and make it worse for others.
Thanks for the detail. My app version 1.25.4.300 is current. Creating, editing and navigating as you described is understood and functional.
So, question...you have to press Guide button, as the only means, to access (activate) My Favorite Channels list and navigate from that point?
I'll try to be more specific and clear. In My Favorites the only 800 series channel I have ❤️'d is 815 BNN Bloomberg . The next sequenced favorite is 900 TSN. All the other 800 series channels I have not set to Favorites. Yet, when viewing 815 and pressing channel up (not hitting Guide first) it changes to the next All Subscribed channel list in my case 819 and so on.
Additionally, if I choose the up button on the Ok wheel a "mini" guide appears again with All Subscribed channels in sequence.
My expectation (ask) is that once Favorites are set one should not have to press Guide to activate/initiate, as the only means, to stay in/with Favorites w/r/t the remote's functionality.
Once My Favorites is created and "locked in" any of the remote navigation or scroll functions should operate thru the My Favorites list...no?
So nothing recent?

Our team is constantly working on improving the service and implementing releases to address specific issues. While we have nothing to share publicly at this time, rest assured our team is working as we speak on improvements and we'll share what we can when we can.

Appreciate the reply, but that’s been the same line for quite a while now. I don’t doubt that the team is working behind the scenes, but from a customer perspective, the pace and visibility of progress are minimal — especially compared to what TELUS was once known for.
The shift from a dedicated carrier-grade solution to an Android-based app experience might make sense from a cost and infrastructure standpoint, but it’s come at the expense of reliability and overall quality. Many of us were hoping TELUS would lead in this space, leveraging fibre to deliver something truly next-gen — not just chase the low-cost model.
Hope the improvements coming down the pipeline are meaningful, because a lot of long-time customers are losing patience. Looking forward to seeing some real progress soon.

What are the 2025 feature updates?

Respectfully, the ability to set pre and end times to a scheduled time has been available for 20 years on the individual level. What I am noticing is the new tech appears to be driven by the new tech generation.
Banking is another pet peeve. I until a few months ago was able to view my online bank statement in the long tradition of oldest at the top progressing to the newest at the bottom. I bank at two places and both have adopted this newest at the top. WHY are the new generation of programmers messing with what we all grew up with?

Because they are 20 somethings. A mentor of mine used to say "hire 'em young cause they know it all"! 😉

Any thing new to report?
I see a new App Version 1.25.1.500 and Config timestamp 2025-02-13T18:53:39 yet nothing notable as far as function changes?
Still lots of frustration wrt ongoing documented issues.

Thanks for the update, now I have an expectation. Mine still shows 1.24.11.100 Time stamp 2024-10-23T19:50:08 but Android changed to 12,API:31
- Optikal_SpeakLeader
Never took notice of the Android version previously. Mine shows 12,API:31 as well.

You’re all so kind to continue beta testing this product for TELUS. It’s a bonus for them because you’re all paying to test their inferior product.
Sorry to see it’s still plagued with issues.

Has the TELUS STB that doesn't work with our Sony soundbar work yet? Haven't tried it in a bit because that is my wife's TV.
Recently they wanted to watch the Grammys and I said they have to use the TELUS TV+ app on the Google TV, daughter said the picture looks like really pixilated.
I am also afraid to ever switch to one of these Android STBs because I heard the picture looks awful.
Has TELUS gotten rid of so many employees that the contractors do not care about doing a good job? The Android boxes are a failure.

Regarding the 21-T box: the HDMI CEC behaviour changed at some point. For a long time, it would immediately turn my tv back on after I turned it off. I had to disable the feature. After quite some time, I tried again this week. The above issue is now gone, but now the Telus box now seems to wake up and turn everything on around 7 in the morning. For fun, I swapped out the box with one from another room, and it behaves the same. The CEC function is super nice and makes my tv, stereo and Telus box play nice together. I'd like to use it. But this turning itself on in the morning is not ideal. Any chance this has been seen or is known about? HDMI CEC is a pain at the best of times, but it's so close to working!

Is there an ETA when the closed caption size issue will be fixed. Doesn't matter the setting they are huge and white on black.

We don't have a timeline on this specific issue, but our team's aware and will have an update asap.

How about recording issues?
No way to extend time unless you record the proceeding program that has nothing to do with what you actually want to record. Gets even more ridiculous (stupid) with series recording.
Speaking of...series recording requires you to choose first run and reruns otherwise it will not set series on first run only, which renders that radio button selection useless period!
Coupled with the 90 day auto delete restrictions, fun fact, if you didn't have it record every bloody run of the program series it would not consume a 1000%+ more space....duh!
Can you guys get it together once and for all?
This **** is brutal!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Optik-Kate, I guess you haven't seen my post on "restart". Seems like getting the existing features working should supercede developing "enhancements".

By the way, I had my third technician visit tonight trying to solve the problem with no success. Does the development team just come up with an idea which is executed by a development team? Where is the technical support when it's not working? These problems and glitches appear to be beyond the scope of your technicians.

Thank you for the Q4 update and finally implementing resolution switching. It is now usable and I can stop using my ARRIS box.
Of course the quality isn’t perfect but it’s par with Arris.
- MontellAdvocate
Resolution switching? Could you clarify that a bit? Do you just mean you can select something other then auto?
- CraigveeOrganizer
Before the update the resolution was fixed at 4K for hdr tvs, however the source content was 720 or 1080. It made the picture quality look terrible.
You can now set the resolution to match the dynamic range and frame rate. The result is that the box will output to 1080 when watching TV but switch to HDR when watching Netflix or other supported apps. Telus cable does not put out in HDR and I have never seen that to be the case even with the 4K channels.
