Slimline Remote 2 & Samsung 4K Smart TV

Stainless
Organizer

I just got a new Samsung 4K Smart TV for the den and am only using the internal TV Speakers ( no A/V receiver).  I would like to use the Telus Remote. All the buttons seem to work OTHER THAN THE VOLUME & MUTE BUTTONS.  Any ideas?

It mainly means you don't have quite the correct code programmed into the remote. For Samsung there are quite a few:

1290 1289 1376 1421 1455 1454
1136 1291 1433 1270 1377 1911
1429 1669 1452 1252 1638 1295
1639 1375 1910 1729 1687 1641
1613 1465 1453 1296 1294 1260
1201 1175 1146 1145

It took me a few tries on my Samsung TV to find one that controlled power and volume.

Nighthawk.  I'm assuming the numbers you're talking about are programmed into the Telus Remote.  I have no idea how that is done.

I'll start looking on the Telus site.

Nighthawk.  Found the Code for my Samsung TV (1290) but can't find the "Remove Code".

If by "remove code" you mean reset, try:

Reset your Slimline remote 2

You can return all advanced functions back to their original factory settings by resetting the remote.

  1. Press options button for a minimum of 3 seconds; the green LED next to the Optik power button on the remote control will flash twice.

  2. Enter code 9999 ; the green LED next to the Optik power button on the remote control will flash twice, indicating that the remote has been reset to the original factory settings.

Note: Resetting your remote control disables its ability to control your TV. To restore this ability, reprogram your remote.
