I have gone through the pairing process several times including with Telus support, and while the volume/mute sometimes works, the TV never powers down when I power off via the Telus remote. Instead, the TV shows a spinning wheel when it senses the Telus box is no longer sending a signal and points out the device is down (TV does same thing with Nvidia Shield btw). I also tried a list of 4 digit manual Samsung codes to no avail (though it was unclear to me that manual TV codes could work with the RB21T remote).
Any advice appreciated.
Hardware:
- box: the "new" Telus TV digital box (small black Android device)
- remote: accompanying Telus RB221T remote
- TV: Samsung QN75Q80 series (6 months old)
- soundbar: Panasonic soundbar (10ish years old) connected to TV's eARC port

Thanks we'll try the codes as volume control still not in order. Did a factory reset of the Telus box and the CEC function was disabled.
