How do I get an Internet home service technician to visit?

My internet service is erratic and sometimes slow. Don't know if it's because my modem/router is three years old, or what. I need a technician to evaluate.

Your first step will be to contact tech support. I would recommend by phone rather than chat since chat would get disconnected during troubleshooting. The problem may not even need a tech sent out, depending on what it is.
